This is a few days old now, it took me a while to upload it but Eliot took two steps! Yesterday he took 4 but I didn’t get it on video. I was holding Lucas while filming this and he was trying take the camera from me…
We just returned from a wonderful trip to Iowa with the boys. We visited Bev’s family and then went to Anita to stay with friends. It was great to be back in the mid West. Des Moines has changed so much!! There are too many pictures to upload onto the blog so you can vew them as a slideshow here if you are interested:
It has been a rainy weekend but today we went out for a walk and didn’t feel a drop. It was very cloudy and humid but calm and serene for nyc. Most people have gone out of town for this holiday weekend leaving the city parks quiet. We had a nice afternoon with the boys. They are blossoming in so many ways right now. Both of them can stand without holding onto anything for nearly a minute although I can’t seem to capture it on video yet. They are intensely happy and are smiling more than ever, especially to strangers. They used to just stare at them expressionless for minutes but now they want to engage them in some sort of communication. I think that is a major step forward
And, best of all, they are waking every morning now at 5:45am, not 5:30, thanks to the blackout shade. Those 15 minutes are making all the difference for us after all these months waking infallibly between 5 and 5:30am.
At lunch they had their first taste of SanPelligrino. They both made a sour face but requested more. They also ate pesto, mushrooms, and olives and loved everything. They are able to chew quite well now with their 6 teeth each.
