The boys’ room is darling now with Dodie’s new paintings.  They love to stare at them while in their cribs.  The room is small but very quiet, warm and cozy for the babies.

We bought them a giant soft bear today at FAO Schwarz.

Grandma Dodie was here for a week and we all had a great time!  I’ll post pictures of the paintings she did in the nursery soon, they are darling.  I have a picture of her with Lucas too but I am having trouble uploading it.  I think you can still see it though if you click on the little box to the right of the first image.

The boys started eating solid food this week.  It is the cutest thing to watch them experience new tastes and learn to use their tongues.  Just seeing the spoon now gets them all worked up.  I started them on rice cereal for a few days, then we switched to a multigrain cereal and today they had squash.  I bought a mini food processor and made them plenty of good meals: carrots, apples, peas.  It is so fun to be with them now, they are so alert and interactive, they laugh big belly laughs and they chatter and squeal in delight.  They are happy, robust little cuties.  And man they can eat!  They each downed an entire yellow squash today, no kidding, plus nursing and mulitgrain cereal to top it off.  All in just one meal.

Grandma Dodie is here this week while Bertram is in LA.  She is painting darling little pictures on the boys wall in the nursery and helping me get settled in here a bit more.

I also found a great nanny whom the boys, and I adore.  She is wonderful and I feel very lucky to have found her.  I also LOVE New York and my neighborhood.  It is a privilage to live here and I know the boys are going to love it too.  There is so much to do for kids!!  I belong to a twins group and a group for mothers in the West Village and it allows us to meet lots of other families in our area.  We both feel like we are at home here.  It is so nice to finally be in a place where I can settle.

I will take pictures of the new apartment as soon as it looks like someone lives here.  Right now it is a large stack of UPS boxes in the corner of the livingroom, yet to be unpacked, and no furniture.  Our neighborhood is great, our street is picturesque and I think I am really going to love it here.  It feels like the place for us to be.  Here are some pictures of the boys this morning, they are delightful.  I’ll write more soon, when things settle a bit…
